A romantic Christmas shines forth in this year’s Christmas candle from Normann Copenhagen, which is decorated with a mixture of floral nostalgia and graphic typography.
Designer Anne Lehmann has been inspired by floral prints from the world of fashion, and has depicted Christmas flowers in this year’s advent candle. She has hand-drawn this year’s print with a naturalistic precision, reminiscent of antiquarian botany reference works.
The illustration is constructed as a floral collage, with the Christmas rose as the enticing centre of attention. This delicate little flower, which emerges from the winter snow as if by magic, distinguishes itself with its fine silhouette and delicate stamens from more showy and flashy Christmas decorations. The Christmas rose is flanked here by the statuesque poinsettia, which is characterized by its distinctive leaf-like petals.
The feminine and lively floral collage has its counterpoint in clean graphic numbers, creating a modern, eclectic style. Normann Copenhagen’s Christmas Candle 2016 is a refined and unique interpretation of the advent candle.
Put the candle in the Heima block candlestick and let it serve as a decoration in its own right, or extend the motif by letting the candle form a decoration in conjunction with Christmastide flowers.
